    Plaquenil withdrawal side effects

I can say that the prednisone wean was successful, even after having only been on plaquenil a few months. To answer some of your other questions, it was the same timeframe for me.

Hello all, I am currently new to this site and ran across the discussion about stopping Plaquenil. I have been taking Plaquenil for about 8-9 months and thought that it was not helping me because I still have a fair amount of joint pain, fatigue, muscle pain and so many other issues. Ocular/eye damage is a side effect of Plaquenil seen especially with long term use of medication. Once damage to the eyes are noted, recommendation is to discontinue the medication, as further use can only worsen the ocular damage. If common side effects do occur, they are usually minor and last only for a short period of time. Please note the rare side effects listed below, specifically retinopathy, which causes damage to the eyes. Side effects associated with Plaquenil are placed in three categories common.

But I couldn't handle the heart issue and not being able to breathe (plus all the other pains). Yesterday would've been my 4th day at the reduced dose.

When should I take chloroquine? AnswersDrive Both adults and children should take one dose of chloroquine per week starting at least 1 week before traveling to the area where malaria transmission occurs. They should take one dose per week while there, and for 4 consecutive weeks after leaving. The weekly dosage for adults is 300mg base 500mg salt.
