  6. Oct 09, 2015 I took two doses of Plaquenil and have a sever reaction of hives this started on September 3 and as of this date October 9 they are starting to leave. The problem is if you have a reaction the 1/2 life of the drug is about 50 days that is how long it will stay in your body.

I was recently diagnosed with CNS Lups in July. My Rhuemy wants to put me on plaquenil and cellcept. I am scared and don't really want to start the drugs, but am really confused as to what to do. Aug 12, 2004 I am also taking Cellcept 2000mg along with Plaquenil 400mg and bextra 20mg, prednisone 10mg, DHEA 50mg and Synthroid.5mg. I have been on the Cellept about 2 months and I can't really tell any difference, except now I have nauseau. Between plaquenil and CellCept, my joint pains and sun reaction are no longer a problem. My Sjogrens dryness is improved as well. CellCept is a newer drug for our purpose, but it's the basic drug for patients with organ transplants. They take it in higher doses for life. I don't have Rx coverage on my insurance and I think CellCept is more $$ than MTX.
