I can only speak for myself and my personal experience. Plaquenil has helped me on many levels on many days. I think, for me, anyway, the depression and anxiety I often feel is due to the autoimmune issues/sjogrens. I have not noticed an increase in depression/anxiety since being on the plaquenil but that is just me. On plaquenil always made me feel very bad. hate it. before my diagnosis I was tired, aneamic, stiff etc since the plaquenil I jus flare all the time. it was so bad I just came off it for several months. got so ill they wanted me to go on chemo based drugs but I did not want that either. so reluctantly went back on the plaquenil. imo its made me worse. I asked her for plaquenil since it's a non steroid anti inflammatory. She seemed hesitant to prescribe it. She told me that it could make me feel better or much much worse. She said after 3 days of burbur detox I could try 1/2 tablet of plaquenil every other day, but if i start feeling worse to stop immediately.

I have been taking plaquenil ever since.
